Developing Parish Partnerships - FREE Workshop

Back to list

Event Date : 11 March 2010

Time : 10:30 - 16:30

Duration : 2 Days - 11th March and 18th March

Location : Trowbridge, Wiltshire

This is a training opportunity for Community Development workers in development organisations who work with rural community groups to build on existing skills and explore solutions to some of the barriers preventing successful collaboration between community groups and organisations within a rural parish.

Many of us will have experience of partnership working between voluntary sector organisations and other sectors, or with representatives from organisations that span a wide geographical area, but this course specifically explores the benefits and challenges for community groups and organisations from within a single parish working together on a collaborative project or activity.

This course of 2 one day workshops will explore the benefits and types of collaboration and the role of the Parish Council in the parish partnership model. There will be opportunities to acquire new practical tools and approaches to help develop solutions to some of the barriers preventing successful parish partnerships- something which should be relevant to many of you. Attendance at both days will enable participants to be able to run similar courses in future which can generate income for your organisation.

This course is being delivered under the Collaboration Benefits programme rural strand managed by ACRE and funded by CapacityBuilders. Community First is the delivery partner for the South West, and similar courses are also being held during March 2010 in 4 other regional venues.

Numbers will be limited so please return the booking from as soon as possible if you wish to attend.
