Our partners
We are working with the following partners to make sure the programme provides the latest knowledge about collaboration and reaches the organisations that might benefit most.
Institute for Voluntary Action Research
The Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) specialises in action research and capacity building appropriate for the distinctive organisational features of the third sector. IVAR's work is concerned with improving practice and contributing to shaping the policy environment for third sector organisations.
IVAR brings specialist research skills to the Collaboration Benefits programme. Verifying the effectiveness of existing collaboration methodologies and rigorously testing new ones, IVAR will also help to develop a searchable database of collaboration information to go live in early 2009.
IVAR will lead a real time evaluation of the programme to ensure it delivers what participants need and incorporates new learning as it emerges.

Action with Communities in Rural England
Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) promotes the interests of rural communities and is the national umbrella organisation for 38 Rural Community Councils throughout England. ACRE promotes a healthy, vibrant and sustainable rural community sector that is well connected to policies at national, regional, sub regional and local levels.
ACRE is promoting training and facilitating collaboration clusters tailored to the specific needs of local rural communities (eg. Parish Partnerships) and building on ACRE’s community empowerment model.
