Objectives and activities

The income generation workstream led by ACEVO aims...

1. To raise the skills of those who work to support the sector in a number of key areas

This includes training in:

  • trading and enterprise
  • the acquisition and management of assets
  • commissioning, procurement and financial management.

Skills in these key areas are enhanced through a combination of face-to-face training, interactive online learning, helpline provision, peer-to-peer networks and the publication of new supporting material.

2. To develop and connect social enterprise and third sector support organisations

We identify opportunities to broker new linkages and models of working between support providers in voluntary and community, enterprise and business support sectors, to ensure that best practice is shared and expertise is fully exploited.

3. To listen to and understand the needs of local and regional support providers

We research and engage with our customers to ensure we are adding value to existing programmes and not re-inventing the wheel.  This way of working balances the need to start delivering support in identified areas with the ability to be reflective and adapt to feedback as the programme proceeds.

Collaboration

There appear to be particularly strong synergies for shared working with the Collaboration benefits workstream. We have also had initial discussions around the potential for links across other national workstreams and we will continue to explore these opportunities.
