Vitalise Model Action Day
Event Date : 26 March 2010
Time : 11.00 - 15.00
Duration : half day
Location : Vitalise Skylarks, Adbolton Lane, West Bridgford, Nottingham
Location MapVolunteering and Disabled People Model Action Day - An East Midlands’ meeting focusing on physical and sensory impairment
The event will be a great opportunity to share experiences and expertise and new, innovative ways to involve disabled volunteers. This is a real opportunity to influence policy and practice development in removing barriers to volunteering and mobilising more volunteers.
Those attending the event will have the opportunity to gain inspiration from our speakers, share their own ideas with others and comment on the draft materials for the toolkit.
Meeting objectives:
- Share experiences of volunteering as a disabled person – what’s working? what needs improving?
- Infrastructure and volunteer organisations – come and share your experience and challenges
- Meet representatives from the Network of National Volunteering Involving Agencies (NNVIA)
- Discuss the findings from our survey of disabled people
- Find out about volunteering by other underrepresented groups and what’s happening to support this work
- Together we’ll develop ideas for improving disabled people’s opportunities and experience as volunteers
